Chairman Partner, Consilio International AB
Erik Belfrage is co-founder and Chairman Partner of Consilio International AB, an independent strategic advisory firm based in Stockholm Sweden. Consilio works with the management and owners of Swedish multinational corporations, as well as a number of foreign clients interested in the Scandinavian and Baltic markets, by providing intelligence, advice and relations.
Mr. Belfrage obtained his MBA at the Stockholm School of Economics in 1969 and started his career at Sal Oppenheim in Cologne before entering the Swedish Diplomatic Service in 1970 where he served until 1987, including postings in Geneva, Washington, Bucharest, Beirut and Paris. In 1987 Mr. Belfrage joined the Investor AB Group as Senior Vice President at SEB (Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken), a position he held until September 2011.
In 1987 Mr. Belfrage was also appointed Personal Advisor to Chairman Emeritus Dr. Peter Wallenberg and in 2005 Senior Advisor to the Chairman of Investor AB, Jacob Wallenberg and the Chairman of SEB, Marcus Wallenberg. He still continues to advise his former principals on certain key issues.
Mr. Belfrage serves as Chairman of the board of the International Council of Swedish Industry (Näringslivets Internationella Råd, NIR), Sigtunaskolan Humanistiska Läroverket (Sigtuna School) and the ICC Corporate Responsibility & Anti-corruption Committee. He is further Vice-Chairman of the ICC Finance Committee and also a member of the Board, amongst others, at the Trilateral Commission, Turkcell, Eramet Steel and KIBI AB.
